with that hot pianist

Dana Gillespie is a major figure on the international music scene and the UK’s very own “Empress of The Blues”. She describes the Blues as “…my first musical love because its earthy, spiritual and honest”. She has been singing, recording and touring with blues musicians from all over the world, including a two year spell in America working with some of the finest exponents of the genre. She has recorded over 60 albums for prestigious labels and has performed on every continent. Highly regarded and admired by both audiences and musicians (her fans include Jimmy Page and Bob Dylan who invited her to tour with him in 1997) Dana has been voted “Top British Female Vocalist” five times by the British Blues Connection and Blueprint magazine and been elevated to their Hall of Fame.

Dana rarely performs in the UK now with her busy world-wide performance schedule including an appearance in the BBC2 documentary “Hotel India”. “it’s an index of Gillespie’s empathy with her material that the originals blend so seamlessly with the classic covers….. she literally beats the pants off anything done by a British bluesman these last ten years.”(Essential Blues).

Dana is accompanied by a star member of her own select band – Dino Baptiste - a legendary blues and boogie-woogie pianist. Dino’s regular annual schedule of over 270 gigs embraces the UK and major international clubs and festivals. He is simply one of the best piano players, if not the best, that one is likely to hear in a live performance. “Dino has to be one of the premier keyboard players in the UK and the fervent reaction inspired by his scintillating mastery bore ample testament” (Bob Chaffey – Freelance Music Journalist, October 2013).

Dana Gillespie’s and Dino Baptiste’s  debut at the Sound Lounge is a unique occasion not to be missed.

Rossano: “My goal is to play jazz and make it understandable to everybody.

Most of all, I want to see people smiling and having fun!”

Having graduated in classical piano in 1996, Rossano at 16, was performing professionally at jazz venues in the Milan area, and in 1992, he joined one of Europe’s historic jazz bands, the “Milano Jazz Gang” touring with the group throughout Italy and West Europe until the end of 2000. That same year, Rossano met legendary jazz pianist and educator, Barry Harris, who became a mentor and good friend. Mr. Harris has touted Rossano as “the best stride piano player” he has ever heard.

Stylistically, although international critics consider Rossano a follower of Ralph Sutton, Dave McKenna and Barry Harris, the influence of other great masters can be heard in his playing, such as Fats Waller, Teddy Wilson, Art Tatum, Count Basie, Earl Hines, Ellis Larkins and Bill Evans, to name a few. Rossano was introduced as a soloist by trombonist/arranger Dan Barrett and drew international acclaim at the 2002 Ascona Jazz Festival (Switzerland) while performing with the eight-piece, all-star American band led by Barrett, which was enthusiastically received.

Following his marriage to American writer, Lala Moore, in 2007, Rossano established himself in New York City.

Rossano has performed with many of the world’s finest jazz luminaries, such as Slide Hampton, Clark Terry, Barry Harris, Dan Barrett, Kenny Davern, Bucky Pizzarelli, Bob Wilber, Warren Vache, Bob Cranshaw, Mickey Roker, Harry Allen, Howard Alden, Joe Wilder, Eddie Locke, Joe La Barbera, Scott Hamilton, Jake Hanna, Houston Person, Bill Charlap, Dick Hyman. He has been in great demand in the U.S. appearing at New York venues, such as Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, Birdland, Feinstein's, the 92nd Street Y, Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, the Café Carlyle and Town Hall, as well as at main jazz parties and festivals., Internationally, Rossano has performed in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Luxembourg, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

As an educator, Rossano has given lectures on jazz and/or masterclasses on piano at institutions such as the University of Toronto Jazz Studies, University of Central Florida and Claremont College (California). Most recently, in May 2013, in addition to a concert at the Master’s Lodge of St. John’s College, Cambridge, UK, he lectured there as “professor in residence”.

Doña Oxford Tooting at Brooks Blues Bar based at The Sound Lounge with her band and she really is that good.

Doña is a world class soul and blues singer in the mould of greats like Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and Tina Turner. She also happens to be one of the most respected female rock and roll piano players in the music industry, with over two million YouTube hits to her name for her famed "Boogie Woogie" showstopper.

Doña grew up in New York and honed her talent in East Coast clubs before moving to

Chicago and eventually Los Angeles where she blossomed as a live performer, songwriter and sought-after session musician. Her musical C.V. includes sessions with Van Morrison, Roger Daltrey and Ginger Baker and live performances with The Band's Levon Helm, Buddy Guy, The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, Andy Fairweather Low and none other than Keith Richards who was so impressed with her keyboard skills he shouted "You're a bitch!" as they jammed on stage.

After a well-received tour in 2015 as keyboard player and vocalist with Grammy winning guitarist Albert Lee, Doña decided to take her own British band on a tour of Europe. She made two highly successful tours in 2016, winning fans all over Britain, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany. The tours culminated in her latest album, the critically acclaimed "Live..and Loud!!" - produced by Jim Williams.

2017 sees Doña embark on a more extensive tour this spring, followed by festivals, club shows and theatre dates in the summer and autumn.

" I'm so excited to be bringing my tour to The Sound Lounge - new home of the Brooks Blues Bar", says Doña, " I make sure my concerts always have a great party atmosphere. I'm a passionate fan of blues and soul and I try to put that across in my shows. I love to get people up on the dance floor!"
